Terms Used
I thought this might be of some use, since I'm using a few words here and there that aren't totally familar to everyone. So, to make things easier I thought that this might be for the best. :)
6 August, 2005 New term added. Check out the V section. :D
- Ayalee/Ain
- A type of dragon race that's nearly as old as the Ancient Dragons themselves. They are a rare breed of dragons that have an intelligence that is far superior to that of humans. They have wings in their humanoid form if they choose to expose the. The wings for each bearer is always different, depending on their status in life, but the main colors are pretty much consistant through out: White, feathery wings, black leathery wings, and an odd, gray combination of the two. All Ain/Ayalee are extremely beautiful. Almost etherally so. They put super models to shame. Each Ain/Ayalee has a unique ability,(i.g.: magnification of a spell, fusion of elements, imbuing objects with elements, etc.), but only to a certain degree. "Ayalee" is Leain for "Angel of Destruction," for some of the Ain have been known to go insane and go on a rampage, destroying everything. The powers of the Ain are legendary.
- Blade Dancer
- Please refer to the Blade Dancer website.
- Blooded
- A type of immortal that cannot die unless beheaded, loose their heart, or loose their soul. They cannot die be any other means. They come from the planet Mirage and to date, there are only two known races of these Eleven Blooded: The Nightscapes, who are high alchemists, scholars, and magic users. They are known to be fierce warrior mages and use black, dark, and gate magic. The other is Dynarium, they are one of the strongest of the 11 and are considered guardians, taking on the forms of Savior and Harbinger(more on those as soon as I get some more info).
- Blood Singer
- Protectors once long ago, their use of blood to induce a controlled frenzy for combat made them dangerous. The very air sang with blood as they fought, hence their name. They have since disappeared but there are rumors that they may still be about.
- Caselien
- A race on the planet of Caselien who have a more avian, or bird like, in their bone structure. The planet that they are from has a lighter gravity compared to Terra, but I don't know by how much. Caselien's normally have some sort charm or pendant that keeps their body from being crushed by the gravitational forces on other planets.
- Deruu Strite
- Symterran for "deadly strider."
- Doran
- Okay, this is a half breed species. They have to be *exactly* half dragon, half something else. You can't have a doran that's, say, half dragon, quarter elf, quarter human. It doesn't work that way. There would be too many conflicting types of blood and ether flowing through the body that it would mess the poor kid up when he/she was born. When born, the children are born with one of three things: a tail(which is most common), wings(2nd most common), or hands/arms and feet/legs that look more draconic(which is rare). The most rare occurances is someone born with all three or a combination of any two of the three.
- Dynarium Harbinger
- One of two forms of the Dynarium family(race?), which are the guardians and portectors of the universe. This is their dark and destructive form. They are the bringers of destruction and rebirth. This form can only be used when a great evil or a great anger overwhelms a Dynarium.
- Dynarium Savior
- One of two forms of the Dynarium family/race. This is their light and righteous form. In this form, salvation and rebirth is gifted to the Dynarium. They must feel a righteousness for life and yearning for non destructive means and an order to use this particular form.
- Judge
- The word in question being used in this sense is slightly different than what we're used to. 'Judge'is a title in Korusco society given to one member in each major House on Lunaria and Selena. There are 13 Judges total, but only 12 Houses. Selena makes up the 13th Judge. They are given this title because it is their duty to judge who is deemed worthy enough to gain access to the Ultimate Power. If some enemy force is trying to get to the UP after they get through the Korusco, the Judges are the next ones up. Their last line of defense is Selena herself. All Judges have access to the UP, but only to a portion of it at a single time. They are nearly gods while in their Judge form but it doesn't last for very long. Each title bearer while in Judge form have energy coming off of them in waves in vary hues and markings on their faces similar to tattoos that fade after returning to their natural state.
- Korusco
- A race created by the goddess Selena to protect the Ultimate Power at all costs. Some leave the two moons of Lunaria and Selena to actively search for the one to claim the UP, but most stay home. They appear to look like the other races in the universe but have a slight shimmer to their skin when the sun hits it right, their hair has a metallic tint to it, and their eyes are very extoic looking(see 'Galena Venowen' for an example)
- Noble Vampyr
- As the name implies, vampyr of the noble class. They're actually less dangerous than peasent vampyr simply for the fact that they won't haphazardly Tempt just anyone. They usually stalk their prey first and watch them for a while before Tempting their victim. Believe it or not, but the vampyr hunters' job is to technically keep these guys in power on the world of Sabatka
- Nocturne Castle
- Okay, okay. So it's not really a term, but I liked the explanation enough that I decided to put it in here anyway.^^ Dracos won this castle from the Vampire King during a card game of Poker. The Vamp. King lost and Dracos punted the poor shmuck out. So, there you have it.^^ (the vampire king in question, I believe, is Dracula himself....)
- Peasent Vampyr
- The lower class of the vampyr. They are literally your peasents and low mid class to low class of the population. These are the ones that are more dangerous because most of them are a little bitter about being Tempted. So, if they suffer, then the world has to suffer with them. There's no passion or love/lust among them that gives them drive as with the Noble Vampyr. These are the ones that the Vampyr Hunters stalk the most because of this.
- Pheran
- Similar to the dorans, but with an obvious difference: you have to be half phoenix, half whatever to be considered one. Again, the children are born with either wings or their feet/legs and hands/arms are more phoenix looking, but no tails.
- Rocan/Dalacon Uusarae
- Symterran and Gerryn for "weilder of the spirit weapon," or "spirit weapon weilder."
- Rocan
- A weapon created from a portion of the soul of the weilder. The weapon chosen must have some type of blade on it and it can only be used by the Champion of Gerryn. The weilder of the Rocan is identified by a jagged scar running from the collar bone to halfway down the shoulder.
- Rune Child
- There were originally seven of them, but most were killed off during a war on Everlynn(I'm thinkin' the War of the Gods, but I'm not sure...). They're very similar to "faie" or the "planet-touched"(for those of you who don't know, those who are more in tune with the earth and its powers. They can weild them better than anyone else) and hold incredible power. They were originally created by the gods and were used as weapons of destruction. More details are on the way. ^^
- Shadakain
- Tokei's global police. I don't know how else to describe it.
- Shadow Walker
- Like the Blade Dancers, they are protectors but they do this from the shadows. They are not to be confused with assassins for that is not what they do. They are merely hidden protectors of their chosen patron.
- Seren
- A predecessor of the Elves, these ancient people lived on select planets. They were known to be wanderers and skilled combantants. As the Elves and Humans increased in populations, the Serens began to die out, outbred by their own children: the Elves. There isn't much difference between the Elves and the Serens save for the fact that the Serens had longer ears and culturaly differences. Whereas the majority of the Elves have been known for creating vast, beautiful cities deep within forests, the Serens lived in small villages where certain members of their tribe would journey out to learn about the world then return to teach others.
- Tempt
- A term used by the Vampyr Hunters for when a Vampyr turns a human to their ranks. It's usually used in connection with the Noble Vampyr more often than the Peasent Vampyr.
- Ultimate Power
- No one is really sure what it is. Not even the gods. Only the Korusco and a few select trusted others do and they're not saying anything. Some think it's a weapon, others a spell. Still, the Korusco guard the UP with their lives and wait for the one person, no matter who it be, to come and claim it and use the UP for whatever purpose this person sees fit.
- Vampyr
- No, it's not a total definition of what a "Vampire" is. Just the spelling. "Vampire" is actually the barbaric spelling of the actual word "Vampyr," and since we are not barbarians here I'm using the traditional spelling.
- Vilya Fea
- A winged race of people living near the Serens. It was once thought that these people could fly but have since lost that ability and can only glide. An interesting fact about the Vilya Fea is that their wings take on the characteristics of their owner. For example, if a man feels as though his hands are stained with the blood of those he killed, parts of his wings will have faint tinges of red on them like blood.
- War of the Devils
- Not too clear on this one. Seems to be a war close to a catasrophic event on Terra. More details to come.
- War of the Gods
- I don't know much about this, but from what I've been told, it was a massive war between the gods and it drew in the Blooded, major clans of dragons and phoenixes, and other near immortals and immortals. One goddess in particular was persecuted for creating her own race: Selena, goddess of the moons Lunaria and Selena. She had created the Korusco to protect the Ultimate Power and the gods didn't like that. The Blooded and the gods that didn't agree with their brethren jumped in to stop them. This started the fabled war.
- War of the Paladins
- A war fought mainly between the two paladins Drake and Galena Venowen. They both used their own armies to fight each other, and the war became so huge that it drew in knights that had the equivalent ranking of "Paladin" into the war. It only ended when Drake and Galena had a final showdown between each other in a temple on the surface of L'main. There was so much energy being created by the two as they fought, that something equivalent to a "Mind Spike" spell took effect and sent the two sprawling across opposite ends of the universe and through space and time.
